Federal Inspection Service Building George Bush Intercontinental Airport

Location Houston, Texas

Project Detail

This project consisted of a new Federal Inspection Services (FIS) building and sky bridges linking the FIS to other facilities, a new parking garage containing 2,500 parking stalls, expansion of the elevated automatic people mover system, including a station at the existing international arrivals building, and an off-line maintenance facility.  The project also included all associated roadway and utility infrastructure modifications.

As part of the Parsons Brinckerhoff team and as a subconsultant to PGAL, Sunland prepared cost estimates for 30% schematic design, 65% design development, 95% construction documents and 100% bid documents (final update) for the new FIS building (784,000 square feet), contract 2,500-vehicle parking garage (80,000 square feet), new utility tunnel, utility relocations, and major roadway modifications (75,000 square yards).
